I have this thing where I love going in old churches.
(The Catholic ones are always the best.)
I love sitting quietly in the chapel areas...
I love the building's smell..
the way it feels to be in there...
the quiet...
the echo....
the windows...
it all feels so sacred...
so reverent...
a few of my friends and I always seem
to end up exploring these old type churches
when we are visiting
other places
I have many very special memories
from some of these adventures.
(I view them as a sort of spiritual pilgrimage.)
so when I saw these pictures,
I immediately wanted to seek out
all of the hidden jewels of church buildings
in Huntsville.
if you know of any, let me know-
maybe you will want to explore with me

i would love to explore with you! what is it about this time of year that makes us want to explore old churches? i hope that we can find a time to get together sometime soonish to explore. i'll be hopeful in the meantime. ;)
These pictures are so beautiful~ they make me want to take an adventure of my very own. I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving with your family!
The one with yellow leaves looks a lot like the courtyard from Dead Poet's Society when they go outside and march around. I love that movie and I love these pictures. I figure now that I've come out, I might as well leave some comments on posts that caught my eye! I'm backtracking! And I'm not a stalker, I hope I don't seem like a blog stalker...I just like reading other's blogs. Especially anybody's who's friends with Amelia. I love her.
