i love a pretty book...

So if you are ever trying to find the perfect gift for me...
I can tell you exactly what I want...
(My birthday is 42 days away, so it's not to soon to put this out there..
Annie, you agree with me, right?)

I have decided that these beauties are my newest favorite thing to collect!
The days of Mary Engelbreit calendars have come to an end...
(Mom, I know M.E. had become a Christmas tradition, but I think this is a good replacement!)
It is now all about the Penguin Classics!

I have officially started this new collection with the purchase of this lovely little thing:

I'm not gonna lie..
I definitely judge a book by it's cover.
But I think that's acceptable... as long as you are judging only books like that, not people.

Hi! I also share your love of pretty book covers...especially ones that are really old and neat looking! I stumbled upon an etsy page that made journals out of old book covers. They are really neat and you might be intersted in them as a birthday present maybe? I looked at my favoirtes on etsy and sadly I must not have marked the book cover journals I liked, but you could do a search and see what you can find! I would also love it if you could check out my blog. I am just starting, so I am trying to figure out how to add buttons and make my page look pretty! I was suggested to look at your blog because you are so creative!

I am a sucker for a pretty book and have taken up book altering ( an art that I'm very good at yet.)

Basically I love your blog. I love that you do ministry. I too do ministry. And on top of all of this...I try to find books based on the design of the spine and nothing else. We should be friends.

I share your love of books! Pretty or not! I must admit that nothing compares to the atmosphere of a used book store; the overflowing shelves, musty aroma and tattered covers. Beautiful blog.

Amen to pretty books. I am partial to the old Reader's Digest hardbacks. They're something else to look at. Every binding is different and there's so many of them. You can usually find them at your local thrift stores and especially at Goodwill. Goodwill is a major dumping ground for pretty books. Happy hunting, happy collecting, happy birthday!!

I always judge my books by what they look like on the outside! My fiance makes fun of me for it all the time. I refuse to read a book if the cover doesn't interest me, glad Im not the only one :)

Great blog :) Always encouraging to stumble on a believer whose words reflect a hope that rests upon the Lord.

Shakespeare is epic...I have a soft spot for romantic language.

Hi there, I would definitely agree that the overall look of a novel does really help enhance the overall reading experience. I am an avid reader and I love the feel, as well as the look of a great book-- in a way i think it helps add to the beauty of the story itself. Great blog!
